Michelle Pedersen will be guest artist at Finale 2013

Michelle Pedersen is the Associate Director of Music at The Cathedral of the Rockies, just finished her first year as instructor of secondary choirs at North Star Charter School in Eagle, and teaches private voice.

Pedersen is the former director of choirs at Howard St. Charter School in Salem, OR, a middle school with a student body of 155, 135 of whom were in her choirs. She concurrently worked as the Director of Choral Music at First Congregational Church of Salem, and as an adjunct voice instructor at Oregon State University.

Pedersen has degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from OSU, where she has been a featured soloist in Oregon, Costa Rica, China, Canada, and Taiwan.

Pedersen is a flexible and polished performer, comfortably singing classical and contemporary styles. She has recently played Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Susannah (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adelaide in (Guys and Dolls), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical the Musical), a member of the Angel City 4 (City of Angels), Mimi Marquez (Rent), and Olive Ostravosky (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling  Bee).

Pedersen has accepted a position as associate director at Cantus Youth Choirs and will be joining us for Season 2013-2014. She will be directing Presto, our new treble comtemporary ensemble and co-directing Bravado and VoiceOver with Keith McCauley.
