If you’re auditioning for Rhapsody, Contessa, Fortis, Bella Visi, or VoiceOver, please do so here.

There are five types of submissions:

Audition to join Cantus.

To join Cantus, singers in 8th grade or older need to complete a GENERAL AUDITION. This audition includes an octave scale and a performance of Happy Birthday, dear Cantus. Please scroll down to submit a GENERAL AUDITION. You can practice this GENERAL AUDITION here.

Audition to join a contemporary ensemble.

Cantus has 5 contemporary ensembles. VoiceOver, Bella Visi, Fortis, and Contessa are available to 10-12th graders. Rhapsody is available to 7-9th graders. Auditions for these ensembles are held in April/May of the previous year. Learn more about contemporary auditions.

Audition for a feature solo.

Many of our ensemble performances feature soloists. Those solos can be auditioned live or by video at the director’s discretion.

Audition for a transition number.

In between ensemble performances at our concerts, there are a number of transition numbers. Singers may audition for transitions via video or live (at the director’s discretion).

Testing.

Directors may assign singers to submit video recordings to test and pass off memorization and learning goals.
