Ms. Pedersen has left Cantus Youth Choirs to pursue higher education and a performance career. Good luck and we’ll miss you!

Michelle Pedersen is the director of music at the Amity campus of The Cathedral of the Rockies, and associate director of music at the Boise campus. Ms. Pedersen is the former director of secondary choirs at North Star Charter School (Eagle, Idaho) and choirs at Howard St. Charter School in Salem, OR–a middle school with a student body of 155, 135 of whom were in Ms. Pedersen’s choirs. She concurrently worked as the Director of Choral Music at First Congregational Church of Salem, and adjunct voice instructor at Oregon State University.

Ms. Pedersen has degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from OSU, where she was a featured soloist in Oregon, Costa Rica, China, Canada, and Taiwan. Ms. Pedersen is a flexible and polished performer, comfortably singing classical and contemporary styles. She has recently played Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Susannah (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adelaide in (Guys and Dolls), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical the Musical), a member of the Angel City 4 (City of Angels), Mimi Marquez (Rent), and Olive Ostravosky (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).

Prior to joining Cantus, Ms. Pedersen was a two-time featured guest soloist for Cantus Youth Choirs: Season 1 Finale Concert and Season 3 Finale Concert. Ms. Pedersen is enjoying her time as Associate Director of choirs at Cantus Youth Choirs. She directs Presto, the all-female Bella Visi ensemble and co-directs VoiceOver with Mr. McCauley.
