Cantus Youth Choirs is an award-winning nonprofit community choral program currently for male and female youth ages 4th through 12th grade.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Cantus Youth Choirs is to provide quality music education with the goal of attaining the highest level of artistic excellence in choral music performance. The organization endeavors to enrich the lives of youth from all religious, racial, cultural, economic, and musical backgrounds. The program strives to foster the personal and social growth of its members and to promote their sense of self-worth, discipline, accomplishment and pride. Cantus Youth Choirs seeks to work collaboratively with the community at large to promote singing, specifically with the school music programs and other musical organizations.
Ensembles
There are five ensembles in Cantus Youth Choirs. The Elementary and Junior High Divisions have three performing groups or ensembles: Chorale, Concert Choir and Virtuoso Singers. The High School Division has two performing groups/ensembles: Concordia and Bravado. Youth are placed in performance ensembles by audition based on age and aptitude. All ensembles will perform periodically throughout the year and have the opportunity to participate in an annual tour.

Auditions
To join a Cantus ensemble, each singer will take part in a low-pressure audition. The purpose of the audition is for the auditioner to become acquainted with the singer’s vocal range, tone production, ear training, musical background and personality. Each youth will be placed into an ensemble that is the best fit for his or her vocal development and skill level.
There is a small non-refundable audition fee of $10 to offset the cost of the audition facility.
