On Friday, February 20th, Cantus Youth Choirs was the guest artist for the Jim Brickman concert at the Morrison Center in Boise, Idaho.

The concert featured Jim Brickman playing his compositions, telling stories, singing some of his songs, and playing for soloist John Trones. The concert ended with Cantus Youth Choirs singing Jim Brickman’s The Gift  and Thank You with John Trones singing lead.

Eight-five singers, from Concert Choir, Virtuoso Singers and Concordia were in the performance. The choirs were separated into two sections on either side of the piano and were directed by Melody Paskett and Keith McCauley. Erika McCauley and Michelle Pedersen were also in attendance and ran logistics, rehearsal polishing, and interfacing with the event management crew.

We rehearsed with Mr. Brickman prior to the concert, rehearsed, ate pizza, watched the first half of the show from the house, joined Mr. Brickman on stage for the finale, and then took photos with him backstage after the show in the Morrison Center Shop.
